WHAT’S YA POWER?

A comprehensive wellness and sustainability program that transforms how we learn about health, nature, and community.

Piloted at Hillcrest Drive Elementary, What's Ya Power? teaches students to create gardens from seed to harvest while developing mindfulness, nutrition awareness, and real-world skills through direct interaction with gardening, wellness, and art professionals.

How It Works

Partnership-Driven Approach: Co-created with What's Ya Vibe (art and wellness organization) and supported by partner Bio Equity Ed to create a holistic learning experience.

Complete Curriculum: Bevida Project managed garden installation and designed wellness curriculum featuring breathwork, movement, meditation, and mindfulness practices.

Real-World Learning: Students worked directly with gardening experts, wellness practitioners, and art professionals, gaining vocational insights and career inspiration.

Community Celebration: The program culminated in a school-wide farmers market supported by Food Access LA, Bread Bae, Bean Bar, and other community partners.

The Results

This pilot program was a tremendous success for Bevida Wellness, creating measurable positive outcomes for students while strengthening community connections.
